Rage

So, Gillette ran a commercial about being nice and there was a lot of outrage.

And the next morning news of a murder-suicide one town over caught my wife’s attention.

“Let me guess,” I said. “Woman breaks up with a man...husband and wife...he stalks her...threatens her...she gets a restraining order...he gets to her anyway...shoots her because he has the right to own a gun...then he shoots himself.”

She was reading through the 25-year-old woman’s Facebook account.

“The only thing you got wrong was that they weren’t married. They dated for less than 6 months.”

And I certainly didn’t want to be right, but that’s where we are.

Kathy showed me a photo of the now-deceased man, posing with his gun.

He looked like a real tough guy in the photo.

A psychotic tough guy.

Yet, we don’t even want to shine a light on that sort of rage???

It’s common practice to highlight every single instance of an illegal immigrant committing a crime (and there’s no downplaying any of that horrific violence) but we should certainly also study the faces of the rage crimes being committed by young, white males.

Check the faces of the so-called men who wipe out strangers with their big guns...

...they’re profile photos are similar.

Guns, beards, bandanas...

...rage!

They’re upset about a litany of things.

They’re ready to fight!

And it all blows up.

“The poor girl had three kids. They’re all under 8 years old.”

I didn’t need to hear much more about it.

I also knew that a similar scenario played out in every major city in this great country...

...but sure...

...be outraged about the attack on male masculinity.

How DARE we try and address the RAGE!

Or the young women who are murdered.

They’re just collateral damage, I guess.
