Now What?
Make no mistake:
We’re in a precarious position.
The Roger Stone arrest is following a script that everyone thinks Mueller will follow. According to that script, Junior is supposed to be next.
That will not be taken sitting down.
Worst than that, Drumpf looks weak. Everyone is saying that he caved on the wall and that Nancy cleaned his clock.
That will work on his fragile ego.
He will realize that there is zero chance that there will ever be a concrete wall, or steel slats, or so much as a tree that has a sign that says, “Go Home Rapists.”
If he tries to declare it a national emergency it will go straight to court where it will be tied up for years.
So, he lost.
And the realization that he can’t just say something and people will jump will dawn on him...
...and will lead him to making even more brash, misguided, vile and idiotic decisions.
Are we great yet?
Still, in a perfect world, the realization of what is happening would lead to a true surrender. His next speech should be:
“Okay, the mid-term elections has allowed me to see that we are going to have to compromise on a true plan to solve the immigration issue. Then we can move on to infrastructure and finally we can work together to solve healthcare.”
Who thinks this will be the next speech?
Me neither.
Unfortunately, I believe that there’s only one way for him to go.
The gig is about up.
He has to try, one more time, to fire the man who is investigating him, but he’s kind of like the quarterback who stares at the receiver he wants to throw to.
That pass will be picked.
And, it’s way too sad to realize that it will take more time than should be required.
More and more it appears that they worked with Russia to fix an American election.
If the realization of all that doesn’t disturb you to your toes...
...and if her emails still drives your way of thinking...
...well God Bless you because it’s going to be a hard few months.
“They’re playing checkers and Trump is playing chess,” one of his defenders said.
If angrily eating the pieces is playing chess...
...I guess that’s what he’s doing.
