Rights

So the government doesn’t have the right to insist that you wear a mask in a pandemic.

But a government can regulate your decision on birth control or what a woman decides to do with her body.

A government has no right to dictate how many guns a citizen owns.

But a government can decide who one brings into their own bedroom.

Seems as if the separation of church and state is a basic tenet of our governmental philosophy, but decisions being bandied about appear to be heading in the direction of religious beliefs of a chosen few.

Here’s the skinny on abortion.

Know when there are less abortions across the land?

When Dems are in charge.

It’s an easily looked up fact.

Why would that be?

Because of the counseling and the birth control provided. Because the lives of the women involved in such decisions actually matter.

This is a crazy time to be alive.

I’ve been saying that since about 2016.

The divide in this country is the size of the Grand Canyon and it’s growing.

Do we care about the women who are in position to make such an important personal choice?

Do the unborn babies matter?

A baby born into abject poverty with zero chance of advancement, zero medical coverage, no chance at being educated, forced to live a life of poverty…

…a child of rape?

…a child of incest?

Imagine carrying a child to term in that situation.

Imagine.

The leaked decision that threatens settled law is disturbing because it is based on the fact that women aren’t constitutionally granted choice.

That’s horribly unsettling.

And the nation is buzzing.

Abortions will still happen.

More women will die trying to get them, or killing themselves to leave an impossible situation.

Then what?

Gays don’t have choices?

Minorities don’t have the right to decide?

I can’t say that I’m surprised.

Not even disgusted…

…just sad that the hypocrisy of it all isn’t even recognized.

It hasn’t been more than a year since they were all screaming:

“My body, my choice.”

Unless you’re a woman, I suppose.
