Mulligan
Far be it of me to cast the first stone, but Tuesday night Evangelical leader, Tony Perkins, was making the rounds on the news shows to say that Trump received a mulligan for his affair with the porn star.
Now, I may have missed that part of the religious instruction when I was in Catholic grammar school or attending a private college all based on Christian values.
Are these people for real????
They jam their conservative judgemental garbage down people’s throats, not even pretending, to recognize the distinction between church and state, but when they get a chance to preach about a lost soul, they barf up forgiveness because:
“That was before.”
Has anyone heard the big orange guy beg for forgiveness?
His preacher in office, Pence, said that “it’s baseless.”
Yeah.
If you ignore the magazine interview from 6 years ago, or the $130,000 in hush money, or the current “Make America Horny Again” bus tour going on.
It really aggravated me!
Perkins was tripping all over himself trying to find a Bible verse that said:
“Thou shalt be instantly forgiven for having sex with a porn Star a month after your wife gives birth, as long as you currently pass laws that give financial considerations to current Evangelical leadership.”
“Thou shalt refer to that as a mulligan because he plays 8 rounds of golf a week.
Seriously.
When is enough, enough?
I’ve been asking that for two years now.
Obama got hammered for wearing a tan suit.
Michelle Obama was disgraced because she wore a sleeveless dress.
And Bill Clinton’s behavior was roundly criticized by these same people...
...now there are mulligans???
What if they find out that there’s a murder or 30 rapes on the resume?
“Well, that happened before!”
That works????
It’s becoming apparent to me that there’s not a lot of room for God in the discussion of organized religion.
Believe what you want, I guess...
...I’m going to scour the Bible for the other mulligan worthy offenses.
