I don’t know what the answer can be, but despite the fact that having information at our fingertips, the lies in every story are so rampant.

The Paul Pelosi story is horrific, and not just because an 82-year-old man was beaten with a hammer by an intruder.

While the truth was putting on its pants, the lies were racing around the world.

The essence of a lie.

The Pelosi’s live in San Francisco so someone, putting the story together, said that there was a gay angle.

That evolved into a story that Pelosi knew his attacker.

And since it wasn’t Pelosi’s first time in a news story - there was a DWI a month or so ago…

…the gay guy story and the drunk old man story grew legs.

Didn’t matter that there is no truth to it.

Despicable people tweeted about it - including the guy who just bought Twitter - and despite the fact that he knew it was a lie - he has a hundred million followers!

The truth had zero chance!

The police came out and issued a statement that contradicted all of the conspiracies theories.

Didn’t matter!

The guy who unbelievably used to be the president spread the rumor further.

His idiotic child gleefully tweeted out a pair of underwear and a hammer in one of the most despicable jokes ever told.

It’s an 82-year old man in ICU with a fractured skull!

Is that funny?

But it’s not the story that is the true horrific news about this…

…it’s the simple fact that we won’t ever know what to believe anymore.

And if I remember correctly that was the plan to bring America down…

…spread misinformation that puts half of the country against the other half.

An enemy abroad never had to fire a single shot.

We are tearing ourselves to pieces.

With stupid lies that don’t even make any sense.

Remember the cat litter boxes in school story that went around during the summer?

School superintendents somewhere were being forced to put liter boxes in classrooms for kids who identified as cats.

The story wasn’t ever true.

It’s blatantly ridiculous…

…but I’ve heard it repeated by people who are educated and should know better.

One question usually makes the story fall apart.

“Where did that happen?”

“I don’t know, but it’s true!”

No it’s not.

And there are people who now make a living in making up and spreading this story.

Trolls.

Bots.

Fake followers.

How do we get out of this?

Think of it:

There are people who believe that Michelle Obama is a man.

There are others who believe that a pedophile ring was being run out of the basement of a pizza parlor that didn’t have a basement!

Ted Cruz’s father killed JFK.

Story after story after story.

One more nonsensical than the next.

We need to find our way out of this…

…where’s Walter Cronkite?

We need him.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
