Shady?

When your nickname is Shady...

...well...

...certain behavior is kinda’ expected.

Shady McCoy came to the Bills from the Eagles. It was a surprise trade because he was considered one of the best running backs in the league and because the Bills are the Bills.

There were whispers of bad behavior when he was on the Eagles, but nothing really stuck. Still, Shady didn’t want to come and the Bills had to give him a lot more money to make it happen.

But, he showed and played well.

Then he was involved in a bar brawl back in Philly during one off-season. A cop was left with a fractured skull.

No charges filed, but Philly cops were hot!

Then the Bills made the playoffs and Shady’s Reputation was cemented in Buffalo.

Cut to Tuesday afternoon...

...my son texted me.

“He didn’t do it.”

I hadn’t seen the story about Shady allegedly beating his dog, his child, and his girlfriend and taking steroids as well.

“But if he did, he has to get thrown out of the league.”

It took me another 5 hours to see the photos. Meanwhile, Jake had texted me a few more times, as he tried to talk his way through his disappointment.

“Why would a guy like that do something like that?” Jake asked.

“People do dumb things,” I said. “If that’s true it’s beyond dumb. It’s worthy of time in prison.”

There was the quick denial.

The Bills said that they were aware and were investigating. Vegas took the Bills off the betting line.

“How many wins will it cost them?” One genius wrote on Twitter.

Wins?

Did you see the girl?

Maybe it isn’t true.

Perhaps he isn’t really Shady.

But Jake is right...

...if true...

...adios.

Go directly to jail.
