Hot Enough For You?
I won't ever complain.
In fact, my job is waaaaaay better when it's warm out. I hate stumbling around the sites when it's cold. There's always a chance to fall on your ass in the ice too.
So, I don't mind sweating.
Yet, there are challenges.
I struggle to climb ladders now and it takes a lot out of me at the end of the day, but I go up because that's where the job is.
"Come on, old man," a young guy said the other day.
I go a foot at a time. That's the problem. When I was young like that guy both legs would move as I climbed. Now, with the hip barking...one leg at a time.
Anywhoha...
"Hot enough for you?" the convenience store clerk asked on Saturday morning.
"Perfect," I said.
I wore a coat from September, 2017 to the end of May, 2018!
And now I'm going to curse the heat???
Never happen.
I was surprised to hear that it has never hit 100 degrees in Buffalo, New York. Years ago, we drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and it was more than 120 degrees in the desert.
I thought that was cool too, but once we arrived in Vegas we spent some time in a casino and then decided to walk the strip.
The temp was 118.
That first step out into the street was a real eye-opener.
"Holy crap!"
Our walk didn't last very long.
I also spent a summer in Baltimore...
...talk about stifling heat.
But, I'm not complaining.
We only have 90 days left before some meteorologist mentions the "S" word in higher elevations.
Bring on the heat!
Someone foot the ladder.
