The First Loser

My first thought was to stuff my hot peppers with breaded pork chops.

As I thought about it, though, I figured that I needed to make it a true stuffing.

So, I seasoned the pork, marinated it overnight and added cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic, onion, oil, basil, and a garlic spread.

Mixed it well and stuffed about 20 peppers with it.

Of course, Kathy and I tasted the mix on crackers.

“It’s good,” Kathy said.

“Good? It needs to be great.”

“Pork isn’t my favorite,” she said. “If you love pork it might be great.”

I got an inkling that I was in the running after trying one of mine on a salami and provolone sandwich just after they came out of the oven.

“I got a chance.”

My buddy Scott was at the table next to me as we tried all the entries.

“This yours?”

“Yeah.”

“This is the best one.”

Huh?

Could I win?

👎 NOPE!

I was announced as the 2nd place winner and since Pops was 3rd (I thoroughly believed he would win after trying all of them).

JOHN!

AGAIN!!

He went with a clams casino stuffing and I tried his for sure but the pepper I got was so damn hot that it kinda’ ruined me!

The real story of the day was the party that Corinne and Charles threw.

The food was fantastic.

So great to see everyone!

Peppers!
