How Do You Balance it?

There are people out there who are strongly opposed to abortion because all life is sacred...

...they are also of the opinion that those slaughtered in school shootings are collateral damage to keeping gun rights intact.

There are people who loudly proclaim that God is necessary to Make America Great Again...they let all know that following Jesus is essential...

...but ignore that Jesus was especially kind to the least of his brothers.

The anti-abortion crowd is also, usually pro-death penalty.

Those who want to make sure that women have their children...

.,.don’t much care if those children, once born, can be fed, clothed or properly cared for.

Putting Christ back in Christmas is important...

...to people who would reject Jesus, Mary and Joseph if they appeared at the border looking for a room at the inn.

That family might actually be tear-gassed if they showed up.

‘Cause given their country of origin...

...they weren’t the preferred race of people who deserve basic human rights.

So, you see, I’m a little confused by the hypocrisy.

Black people who are guilty of crimes are thugs...

...white people who commit mass shootings are mentally ill.

Mental illness is the number one reason for the mass shootings...

...but funding for mental health facilities can’t possibly be budgeted.

Everyone should be allowed to buy a gun...and are considered to be a good guy with a gun...

...until they mass murder...

...then they are troubled.

But their rights can’t be infringed upon!

I don’t much get it.

Clinton was a pig for degrading the office of the presidency...

...Trump deserves a mulligan for paying off a porn star.

Hillary deserves jail for using a private server for email...

...Ivanka just didn’t know it was frowned upon.

Obama was a Muslim who befriended the Saudi’s...

Trump is making deals with the Saudi’s because he’s for Americans first.

We needed to see the birth certificate...

...tax returns are no one else’s business.

The media is fake news...

...verifiable lies are just exaggerations.

Up is down and left is right.

I decided to stop commenting because everything is nothing...

...and most people dig in and stay right where they are...

...in spite of the facts.

A nation of immigrants with lady liberty standing at the front gate...

...is closed.

“You want asylum, do it the right way!”

But there are no open gates.

Show up, we gas you!

Praise be to Jesus!

Like a lot of other people we got pulled into the series, ‘Suits’ on Netflix. I’ve never had much fun hanging around lawyers who have questioned me as a construction safety officer. My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. He’d say things like: “You’re so full of beans.” Just a down to earth, hardworking guy who became a fast friend. We drove all around New York State setting up jobs. I always let Dave drive so that I could rest. One fine day, way up North of Syracuse, we passed a state trooper.  I glanced at the speedometer. “You’re screwed,” I said, and seconds later, the lights came on. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
