Please Make It Stop!
It’s been more than a week now, hasn’t it?
Kavanaugh versus Ford.
Will there be a hearing? Will it matter? Is it all a delay tactic?
I’ve listened to a lot of it, unfortunately, but Thank God I re-discovered the Dan Patrick Show on Sirius (he does sports talk better than everyone).
Here’s the rub.
The information was out there. The woman wanted to remain anonymous, but both sides actually HAD to know. One side held it until the exact moment it was needed, and the other side was hoping it stayed hidden.
It didn’t.
So, instead of giving a voice to it, we’ve had a pissing contest.
That’s a given. Obstruction appears to be the operational word of this century.
It’s disgusting.
Yet, I was doing pretty well on tuning it out until Saturday morning when an anonymous GOP talking head was the counterpoint to the Democratic mouthpiece who was screaming bloody murder.
“Regardless of how it goes, he should be confirmed.”
“No matter what they find out at the hearing?” The host asked.
“Yes,” The guy said. “Even if it went down exactly as she said it did, he didn’t do anything wrong.”
“What!!”
I yelled it, the host yelled it and so did the Democratic mouthpiece.
“He didn’t finish the rape,” the guy said. “He was a kid. He was drunk. Their clothes stayed on.”
I just don’t understand that.
I have no idea how a guy like that puts his head on the pillow after saying something like that. Does he have daughters?
How would he feel if someone did that to his teenage girl. Would he really say, “He didn’t finish the rape, suck it up?”
Does he have sons? Would he tell them:
“You can hold them down and hold your hand over their mouth to stop them from screaming, but leave your clothes on!”
And this isn’t a case of should or should he not be confirmed...
...I’m only talking about the idiots who are defending it saying:
“Eh, no big deal. He didn’t complete the rape.”
That’s garbage.
Make it stop.
