So, Kavanaugh’s confirmation has run into a delay.

And now we will be party to a tremendous pissing match that will further split the nation.

It’s been two years of bickering and fighting and going off to separate corners to stew and piss and moan.

The hearings were supposed to be a question and answer session to see if Kavanaugh was worthy of a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land.

It started with an argument about whether all his information was available for review. There were also hard feelings about Obama’s nomination Garland, never even getting an evaluation.

Battle lines were drawn.

Back in July, a woman came forward to make a complaint against Kavanaugh. The woman claims to have been assaulted a long, long time ago.

The information was passed along to Senator Feinstein, who was asked to keep it quiet because the woman did not want her identity known.

Now it’s an absolute shit show.

The way I see it:

1). It was always going to be a fight. That’s the world we live in. R versus D. There’s no coming together on any issue.

2). The woman deserves to be heard. She’s making an accusation. She’s struggled to live with it. She told her therapists. She told her family. Long before Kavanuagh’s job was on the line. Whether or not her complaint was not brought in a timely fashion is not quite as important as being eventually heard. This is an accomplished woman. She won’t get anything out of this but grief. Unbelievable grief.

3). Thirty-six years passing doesn’t make you innocent. There’s a tendency for some men to think that it’s all a witch hunt and that every man is susceptible to scrutiny because boys will be boys.

That’s garbage.

If this is even remotely true, the fact that he was young or drunk isn’t an excuse. I was both young and drunk. I don’t have any of those types of accusations on my resume.

Most men I know don’t. It truly takes a low life to do something like that...

...and I don’t know if Kavanaugh is a low life.

I don’t know how he can prove himself innocent, and it’s been a long, long time...

...he may not be proven guilty either.

So, a bunch of old, white men will debate, discuss, and throw nastiness all around.

Everyone will lose.

The country suffered after Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas.

It will suffer now.

I don’t even want to watch.

But I will say, I hope the truth can be found out...

...and that if it’s somehow proven true, the woman finds peace...

...and that the men do the right thing.
