Morality

When Comey announced that they were reopening the investigation into Clinton, 10 days before the election, it seemed like a setup.

Seems more like one since we know that there was an investigation going on regarding Trump, but that one wasn’t announced!

And Comey has been everywhere plugging his book, and bashing Trump, who is returning the favor.

These are supposed to be adults!

And I don’t know exactly what to think of Comey, but he could be a truthful guy...

...appears that way to me.

As for Donald...

...he isn’t truthful, by any stretch of the imagination, and he doesn’t care.

So, the one thing that Comey said on his ABC interview was that Trump is morally unfit to hold the highest office in the land...

...and that’s the single most sentence that I agree with.

America is about family, living a good life, working hard, treating others with respect and telling the damn truth.

Aren’t those the things we should try to do?

Find one thing on that list that Trump does.

And what has bothered me more than anything else is that now we are settling for much less.

Much, much less!

I recall my parents saying that they believed that Kennedy wouldn’t get elected because he was Catholic.

Reagan had a strike against him because he was divorced...

...then when Slick Willy did what he did...

...My God!!!

The people now defending Trump were aghast.

Paying off porn stars, sending out fake photos from the White House, sending out daily hate tweets with 3rd grade name-calling, blasting minorities, allies and everyone else...

...Yeah...My God!

We have lost our moral compass.

We gave it away.

And I don’t know if there is a way back.

Coney also spoke of NOT impeaching Trump...

...as the mistake belongs to the American people...

...and if we want to get some of it back...

...we have to fix it.

I just wonder if everyone wants to.

Some enjoy chaos.

Others don’t care about morality.

It’s an interesting thought.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
