Bombs Away!
So, this was a humanitarian bombing of Syria because Asaad used chemical weapons on his own people, huh?
Thank God we care for those poor people.
We’re good! They’re bad!!
This year, we allowed 11 refugees from that war torn area.
Guess we aren’t THAT humanitarian.
And I don’t know much about what is right and wrong. Evidently they were targeted attacks designed to minimize civilian death and targeting the areas where chemicals are stashed.
Okay.
Using gas on your own people is horrendous.
Yet, there’s one thing I absolutely hate about such a strike.
Those who revel in the power and feel empowered by military might.
I often think about the people on the ground in the areas where those very expensive missiles hit.
I saw one estimate that said that the missles that were deployed cost $240 million.
“About time we have a strong leader!” One woman noted. “No red lines! Bomb the shot out of those people!! Turn it all into a parking lot!!! They’re all pigs anyway!!!”
That kinda’ blows away the whole humanitarian aspect of it, doesn’t it?
And if you turn your back on people fleeing such a regime...
...you don’t truly care for them, do you?
The chemical weapons dropped on those same “pigs” didn’t really concern you, did they?
That’s what bugs me.
It’s not a humanitarian mission.
It may be a wag the dog scenario to stop people from talking about prostitues peeing on a Russian bed.
I didn’t cheer the bombs away moment on Friday night.
It saddened me.
Should you too, as well, if your goals are to be a humanitarian.
