Supreme Court Mess

Are you following the Supreme Court mess?

I’m not talking about the confirmation process, although that’s been downright embarrassing.

Ted Cruz should be banned from ever speaking.

In public or private.

But, I digress.

I’m talking about the Clarence Thomas debacle.

He’s currently either in the hospital or not in the hospital or deathly ill or perfectly fine.

No one seems to know.

Yet, it appears that part of the reason that he’s hiding out is because of texts that his wife exchanged with the chief of staff following the election.

Not only was she all for the complete overthrow of the government…

…it appears that she believed that Biden wasn’t really Biden but was actually a stand in as the real Joe Biden was preparing himself to be tried and hung for treason.

Her husband is on the Supreme Court!

What makes it even more insane is that as a justice he cast a dissenting vote regarding having text messages exposed in regard to the insurrection.

Politics aside, I’m just wondering about that conversation as a man and a wife.

“Hi honey, what did you do today?”

“Oh, I texted the chief of staff to let him know that he should overthrow the government because Biden isn’t really Biden and JFK Jr is going to return to be Trump’s running mate.”

“You did what?”

“Oh yeah. And Elvis. I was thinking about him today. I think JFK Jr might choose him as secretary of defense.”

“Elvis?”

“You can’t trust anything the media tells you. Right after we overthrow the government we have to think about seeing if we can get on a spaceship and just go to another planet.”

“You’re on one.” (Whispering)

“What was that. Oh never mind. How was your day?”

“We’re hearing a case about making the text messages available to the public.”

“Oh. That’s nice.”

Seriously though, this is the stuff of a bad D movie.

Supreme Court!

Overthrowing our own government.

What a weird ass time to be alive.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
