Free Candy for Everyone!

Movies and television shows have done it to death.

They show a really qualified kid running against a total screw-off for class president. The qualified kid talks about ideas to make the school better, and the screw-off just stands up and says, “Free candy for everyone!”

The screw-off wins.

I thought of that when I considered three statements that came out of Donald’s yap.

1). The Caravan - Donald is pulling out all the stops to stoke fears of the coming immigrants. “Hardened criminals,” gave way to “the Democrats are going to probably give them free cars” which turned into “they’re giving them free cars.” Which then became a double-down of fear:

“There are Middle-Easterners in there.”

If that wasn’t enough. “They’re rioting in California to get rid of their sanctuary cities.”

There haven’t been any riots.

2). Middle-Class Tax Cut!

Trump announced that he’s working “around the clock on a middle class tax cut of 10% that will happen in early November.”

Couple of problems here.

He’s working around the clock???

At rallies and on the golf course?

And Congress isn’t in session!

How are they voting on a tax cut???

It’s a flat-out lie...

...like the free candy.

3). We Love Pre-Existing Conditions!!

Remember the Repeal Obamacare fight???

The GOP candidates are now all for it!

“You have a pre-existing condition? We can’t wait to pay for it!”

I hate election season. I can’t wait until it’s over. Yet, how can a candidate straight up lie?

Shouldn’t a lie...

...disqualify?

In the movies or on television the unqualified guy normally loses bigly in the end.

This time around, I fear:

“We won’t touch Medicaid or Social Security.”

May have been a lie.

My advice?

Read up on what they’re saying.

Vote for the ones who lie less.

Last night Trump and Cruz stood shoulder-to-shoulder.

“Lyin’ Ted, who’s father was there when JFK was gunned down, later went on to marry an ugly woman.”

They stood together.

Best of friends.

Just lying their asses off.

Because some people believe it.
