D.B. of the Week - Alexandra Tomlinson

By most accounts the visit recently concluded by Pope Francis was an extremely warm and sensitive...and positive experience for all.

Most accounts.

There were some people who were dismayed by the fact that Pope Francis talked about global warming. One of the presidential candidates stated that the Pope isn't a scientist...

...even though he was actually a chemistry major.

Still others didn't care for the fact that the Pope just kept talking about those pesky poor people who seem to be too lazy (sarcasm) to become CEO of their own company.

But one person took the criticism to a whole new level:

Alexandra Tomlinson, a top model for Trump Model Management, criticized the Pope...

...and took D.B. of the Week honors for her horribly dim-witted take on the visit and the man.

"As I see the egregiously positive reaction to Pope Francis by the citizens of this country and this world, I'm left dumbfounded. He is completely transparent. How is he pulling the wool over so many soul's eyes? And I use the word soul on purpose. For I believe more and more that this man is the False Prophet. Pope Francis worships a different God, the antithesis of Christ."

Tomlinson claims to have seen the Pope flash a hand gesture that linked him to sects of satanists.

Wow.

Where to begin?

I guess I was really, really, really, really, really fooled because to me, Pope Francis appears to be:

Genuine

Loving

In-touch

Caring

Compassionate

And

Kinda' Bright.

Things that I certainly can not attribute to the soul that resides in the body of the top model, Tomlinson.

The Facebook post where Tomlinson went on her tear was deleted quickly...and there wasn't a whole lot there to back her brilliant summation of Pope Francis...

...but it was up there long enough to garner her D.B. of the Week honors.

It's simply wild, isn't it?

Everyone has a place to say exactly what they want.

Thank God others have a spot to call them on it.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
