Aftermath
We are still waiting on the City of Buffalo to open up.
There is still a city-wide travel ban…
…a couple of days after the snow finally stopped.
There’s a whole lot of blame to go around for the slowish reaction to what we all knew was coming for the better part of a week.
“Piss poor preparation prevents proper performance.”
On Thursday night, I went to the grocery store late. Didn’t want to chance a Friday trip, just in case the storm arrived early.
It did.
A lot of people got caught.
So far there have been more than 35 deaths.
They found a 13-year old boy and an adult, in a snow bank.
So sad.
And there’s back-biting taking place. The county executive is battling the Mayor.
That travel ban should’ve been posted for 6 a.m. on Friday morning.
This wasn’t an ‘iffy’ storm.
Speaking of travel bans, the news showed a cute little story about the Bills returning home from Chicago.
They played on Saturday night. They were safe in their 5-star hotel but they wanted to see their families for Christmas.
Who didn’t?
I didn’t see mine…
…but I respected the travel ban.
The Bills?
Nah!
They flew to Rochester. Caught a bus that was escorted to the stadium. All got in their cars and drove through the travel ban areas to get home.
How cute!
I don’t know why, but of course it aggravates me.
What if EVERYONE ignored the ban?
Some who did, died on the streets…in a horrible way.
(They weren’t escorted by state troopers though).
Would’ve been hundreds or thousands more if the ban was so roundly ignored.
And maybe it’s the ‘No one is above the law’ garbage that we’ve heard since we were kids.
That’s a joke.
There are plenty ‘above the law.’
Billionaires don’t pay a nickel in taxes.
Crimes are committed on camera but never charged.
Play with a ball, like a dog…do whatever you want.
Tempers are flaring.
It’s hard to make a turn without creeping out into traffic.
Snow and ice everywhere.
Christmas missed by thousands and thousands of people…
…but not by the politicians or the football players.
How cute.
