What If Rittenhouse Were Black?

I saw the video of the crying that Rittenhouse did on the stand.

I also saw footage of him in a bar, laughing and wearing a shirt about being free.

I read all the comments about how he should be found not guilty because he was acting in self-defense or to stop property from being damaged.

I wondered how those comments would read if Rittenhouse were black.

Extremely differently, I believe.

His mother loaded him, as a 17-year-old, with a gun, into a car and drove him into a protest zone.

He shot and killed two people and wounded another.

They weren’t shooting at him.

He didn’t have a badge.

And it makes me pretty sick that the judge is behaving as though the kid is a hero worthy of praise.

The crying jag that he went on was fairly embarrassing. I’ve never seen anyone cry like that. Perhaps that’s how he cries, but it seemed to be well-rehearsed.

I imagine that whether he’s innocent or guilty is split along the wonderful party lines that have been drawn, but anyone actually rooting for someone to get away with it is pretty lost.

Those in the comments openly rooting for him?

They’d be on the exact opposite end of the spectrum if Rittenhouse were a black man.

I’m thinking they’d be rooting for a lynching.

Two people died.

Someone should answer for that.

Anyone who believes your claims obviously didn't watch the trial. His mother driving him there was disproven. Him crossing state lines with a rifle was disproven. People not shooting at him was disproven. (Ever hear of Alexander Blaine? What about the very audible shots after Grosskreutz was shot?) Even Grosskreutz testified that he wasn't shot in the arm until he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards.
