2020 NFL Predictions

Will they finish the season?

That might be the very first prediction. 

I don’t think it goes off without a hitch. There are so many players and there’s no bubble. These guys like to go out.

How one team doesn’t get it and pass it on is beyond me, but let’s pretend there’s a season.

Prediction #1:

Everybody kneels. There will be very few non-kneelers and Trump begins the year by actually saying the n-word on live television.

Prediction #2 - Both the Patriots and the Bucs are good. 

Say what you want, Hoodie and Tommy are both great. You hate ‘em ‘cause you ain’t ‘em.

Plus ego is a major thing at that level. Neither man wants to be seen as anything but exceptional.

Prediction #3:

The teams with fans in the stands do better than the teams without, and how the league doesn’t have a standard rule for that is beyond me, but don’t worry about it, the sport will be ready for television.

The NFL makes billions and they know how to put on a show. 

Fans or not.

Prediction #4

The Buffalo Bills circle the wagons and make the playoffs.

Again.

They don’t win a playoff game though, losing on an Allen fumble that is returned for a TD with 8 seconds left in the game.

Prediction #5

Tompa Bay does win a playoff game and Tom is terrific all year. 

New England also wins one playoff game on a TD after a fumble recovery with just 8 seconds left.

Neither teams makes the Super Bowl.

Prediction #6

The Chiefs go back-to-back and belly-to-belly beating the Saints in Drew Brees last game.

The game looks like it was fixed, but Mahommes pulls it out, and says after the game that he’s underpaid.

Prediction #7

Mahommes becomes the first billion dollar player as Chiefs re-do his deal.

Prediction #8

Tom Brady signs a new 5-year deal.

New England trades up and drafts Trevor Lawrence.

Prediction #9:

MAGA’s say they aren’t watching, but NFL ratings are higher than ever before.

Prediction #10:

The Bills trade Josh Allen because Diggs needs a different QB.

Allen goes to the Chargers...

...for Tyrod Taylor.

Like a lot of other people we got pulled into the series, ‘Suits’ on Netflix. I’ve never had much fun hanging around lawyers who have questioned me as a construction safety officer. My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. He’d say things like: “You’re so full of beans.” Just a down to earth, hardworking guy who became a fast friend. We drove all around New York State setting up jobs. I always let Dave drive so that I could rest. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
