Robin Hood in Reverse
I grew weary of Brett Favre’s act a long time ago.
Remember when he retired and then unretired and then retired some more, ending up playing for Vikings and the Jets, all the while whining?
Then there were pictures he sent to a reporter to harass her.
Creepy crap.
He got a free pass for all of it because he could throw a ball.
He played the game of his life right after his Dad died and his finely developed character was that of a man’s man.
He had a whole lot to say about plenty of things, and…
…ah, whatever.
Simply put…he wasn’t the great hero everyone made him out to be.
Yesterday, a story broke about Favre being involved in a scheme that allegedly robbed from the poor so that the rich could act like big shot rich guys.
It’s an old, tired story.
The rich simply living as the hugest welfare queens of all-time.
And I can’t even begin to comment on the fact that rich people have somehow managed to teach middle class and lower middle class people to blame the poor for the nation’s money problems while stealing all the nickels they can get their hands on.
Disgusting.
Then to make it all ultra-sickening the wealthy don’t get sent to prison.
Ever.
The charges just fade away.
There are people in jail for shoplifting or for smoking a joint.
Rich dudes defraud people, rob millions from the welfare programs, and are never held to account.
“No one is above the law,” is something that has been thrown around a whole lot lately.
It’s just a slogan.
Far as I can tell, there are a whole lot of people who live as though laws don’t apply to them.
Sure looks like Favre and the politicians did something sketchy.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for the trial.
It’ll all go away.
That’s how it works for the rich and famous.
Robbing from the poor.
How much lower can one go?
