He Stunk!
Buffalo is a loyal town.
I find it amusing to move around the town on the morning after the Bills play.
Win or lose, there’s a whole lot of talk about the game, and man, conflict is on the menu.
“Josh Allen stunk,” was the Tuesday morning rallying cry, and three interceptions and a lost fumble seems to bear that out.
(I didn’t watch and was a couple of hours into sleep when the game ended).
But there are differing opinions on all of it.
“He’s the best quarterback in the league! He just had a bad game,” was one opinion.
“He’s been bad for about a year now! He led the league in turnovers last year.”
“He’s having women troubles.”
“He’s out of shape.”
“He’s dumb!”
The overreactions are amazing.
The amount of anguish over a game is astounding , and while it’s admirable that people are loyal fans (I’m a loyal Yankees fan - I get it) but it simply ruins peoples days and even weeks. (It’s been a lot of years since I lost sleep after a Yankees loss).
Allen will survive.
He will play much better along the way, and he may even listen to some of the outside noise and allow it to motivate him to not stink…
…but he’s making a very healthy wage.
He’s on every third commercial here in Buffalo.
People have cut outs of him hurdling imaginary tacklers on their lawns.
He could run for mayor and get every vote.
It’s a lot of responsibility and when he stinks up the joint, I imagine that it weighs on him.
He should be forced to visit workplaces and construction sites and let all the people out there know that everything is going to be just fine.
Remember:
“You have to BILLieve!”
“No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!”
Ugh.
Gonna’ be a long season!
