Hacked!
“The Morning Show” dropped two episodes yesterday and I only have good things to say about it.
I like that Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston have teamed up and have what is a female power company.
They’re also attacking some sensitive issues and doing good work of it.
The second episode (and it’s in the trailer so I’m not spoiling anything) is about the network they work for being hacked.
Everyone is in an utter panic over the personal information that they have stored on their devices.
Got me thinking.
Would I be compromised in any way if someone got ahold of my information?
I have some tasteless joke photos on my phone. Nothing racist or demeaning, but in the new climate…
…tasteless.
I’ve also sent some angry texts, but someone would have to dig hard to find them because I erase all texts, emails and any other correspondence after I’ve finished the conversation.
Being OCD makes me keep my devices clean.
There are no compromising photos of me.
I don’t actually do anything that would bring shame to anyone in my family, so hack away, I guess.
But I do understand that people might lose their minds because these devices are their lifelines.
I remember years ago when we first heard that someone had sent a photo of their privates to a spouse.
“Why the hell would someone take a photo of that?” I asked.
“And who would want to see it?” Kathy responded.
“And I’d need a wide-angle lens,” I said.
And perhaps the world has passed us by a bit in that regard.
But if we were to get hacked, and that’s a distinct possibility in today’s world (or so the show made it seem pretty easy) we’d be okay here.
How about you?
I looked through my joke photos…
…kept ‘em.
They’re pretty funny.
