Read a story about a Bronx man who was waiting at a bus stop when the sidewalk he was standing on collapsed.

The 33-year-old man fell 12’ to the vault floor and was immediately covered by rats.

Hundreds of rats that crawled all over him. He was afraid to open his mouth to scream out because he didn’t want the agitated rats to climb into his mouth.

Good Lord!

He also fractured his spine in the fall and was paralyzed. He’s regaining some feeling now but may never be fully right again.

Ummmm...

...Good Lord!

Can you imagine freaking the freak out because of the rats and not being able to move or even scream???

It took them 30 minutes to get him out of the hole, and now he’s filing a law suit against the owner of the building where it happened, as well as the city for not inspecting the sidewalk.

They can’t find the guy who owned the broken down building.

May be a can’t get blood from a stone type of lawsuit, but this is one guy who should start a go-fund me.

He needs to be paid!

Rats crawling all over you as you lay there with a broken back?

Just when you think you’re having a bad day!

I remember years ago, my Dad came by in a foul mood. 

“What’s wrong with you?” I asked.

“I had a horrible day,” he said.

“It was better than Lorne Greene’s day,” I said.

Dad looked at me like I’d lost my mind.

“Why?” He finally asked.

“He died today.”

My Dad was a funny guy, but it was hard to get him to laugh out loud. He did that day.

So, when you’re having a bad day...

...think of the guy covered in rats 🐀 

...or poor Lorne Greene.

The other night I got home from work and Kathy and Sam were engaged in a game of backgammon. Sam had never played and wanted to learn. He got some late doubles and won his debut game. (I helped a little). And I thought of my buddy, Gag. We were roommates at Gannon back in 1983. We played at least 25 games of backgammon a night. By the end of the year he wound up beating me by just a couple of games out of a few thousand. Eyes on the Horizon

My sister’s book is out there! Go get it!! It makes me so proud to see the book on Amazon, knowing that it’s very, very great! It’s been a long, long time since we were out in California, brainstorming my stories long before they were published. Carrie Lynn was writing, writing and writing some more through the years and I kept telling her… …”Go for it!” Well, she did!  To amazing results. Of course I was able to read the book as it was being put together, but I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday and can’t wait to read it again. The shoe is on the other foot now as I have been sitting on a lot of my writing lately. I plan on getting it out there before the end of 2024, but for now: Carrie takes center stage! Eyes on the Horizon Review

It’s always strange for me when someone I know tells me that they read my books and it’s weird for them because they think of me as they’re reading the story. I didn’t quite grasp what they meant, and hoped that they’d get caught up in the story and not me. I kind of get what they’re saying now because I just finished reading my sister Carrie Lynn’s excellent first book, ‘Eyes on the Horizon’. Now, I had read the story a long while ago, but a whole lot of work went into the end product. As a writer, I always try and guess along with the author because I can see the plot lines, and I’m often critical of plot lines that come out of nowhere as the author tries to unpaint the corner he’s stuck in. There was none of that in ‘Eyes on the Horizon’! I didn’t have any moments of, ‘Come on, now, that doesn’t work!’ I caught all the subtle lines that we shared in conversations and I was proud that Carrie defined her characters clearly and used them to propel the story forward.
