Dumb
Off to work after what was essentially a snow day and I was ready to roll.
Too ready.
I made a dumb move.
I pulled into the driveway and saw the remnants of the foot of snow we got and I also saw the shovel that my nephew John left by the door.
Dumb.
I grabbed it and shoveled for what amounted to about ten minutes.
It actually felt good as I was doing it.
Didn’t feel quite as good a half an hour later.
I stumbled into the house later on in the afternoon and Kathy asked what was wrong.
“I’m an idiot.”
“Did you shovel?”
Bingo!
By 7:00 I was on the couch with ice on the lower back.
Wondering…
…where has the time gone?
I can’t shovel anymore.
