Feeling Sick

I know there’s a certain portion of the population that thinks all of this is somehow warranted, but I’ve felt sick to my stomach over the last few days.

The USPS is being ripped apart because Trump doesn’t want votes to be counted.

Kanye West is working with the Trump campaign to try and steal black votes. I say steal because they’re using fake signatures.

Russia will mess with the election and feels emboldened to do so because they have been all but given permission.

Congress was bypassed in the process of helping Americans with the pandemic relief. By executive order social security was defunded and unemployment was reduced (for millions of suffering people)...

...and the con of it is that he expects to be treated as a savior.

And the truly sickening part of it is that Trump announced it all in a sickening rant at a golf club where his members (sans masks) pay $350,000 a year to join.

That’s the group of people who cheered “fake news” berating of the press, and loved the idea of lowering the rate of unemployment for people who can’t ever set foot in such a club.

It makes me sad because the majority of the people in the country realize that this is all wrong.

Americans don’t believe in foreign influence in our elections.

The free press and the Congress were designed to provide oversight against a rogue government.

Here’s the story that Trump is selling:

Clinton and Obama in 2016 convinced the Republicans in the FBI to throw the election to Trump so that after he became president the deep state could conspire against him.

Does that make any sense?

And the free press was in on it.

As for the pandemic they believe that the entire planet was in on letting a virus loose so that Trump would ignore it, bungle the response, golf instead of lead, and look bad enough to allow him to fall behind Biden.

They also believe it will magically disappear on November 4th.

What else am I missing?

The corrupt people (according to Trump) are members of the press, the upper levels of the FBI, the entire justice system, the Democratic Party, all of the sports leagues, Black Lives Matter, the gay community and the big cities.

The good people?

Trump and his family, the GOP (who have abandoned all constitutional responsibilities), Putin and Russia.

His people believe that Obama and Biden and Clinton are criminals and that someday soon there will be arrests and charges for treason.

None have ever been indicted.

Meanwhile, Cohen, Manafort, Lewandowski, Collins and Trump himself (Trump Foundation and Trump University) have been indicted, convicted and either sent away or paid millions in fines.

We’ve never seen his taxes and you don’t have to be Columbo to figure out why. He’s never paid taxes. He’s borrowed money from China and Russia.

He claims to be all about God. Never steps foot in a church. Married three times and cheated on each one - documented - paid off a porn star with campaign money.

Has the gall to come for Biden’s faith.

And the golf.

Look back at his remarks about Obama golfing as president. Called the man lazy. Said that he would never be able to golf because he’d be working so hard.

It’s documented that he has golfed 4 times as much in less than 4 years than Obama did in 8, and here’s the tricky part:

He profited off it every single time.

So, I try and do other things.

I have been watching the Yankees and some shows. I’ve been hanging with my family, trying my best to stay healthy. 

I go to work every day.

And I have a truly sickening feeling that I’m witness to the end of all of the principles that our flag has stood for since 1776.
 
We had a lot of work to do before Trump ever stained our government but we were making strides. Short little steps that might’ve made a difference for the poor, the gays and the minorities.
 
All of that progress has been annihilated now.

It will take years and years and years to find our way back to some of the order we once had.

I want to do more somehow.

Feel powerless.

It’s making me sick.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. He’d say things like: “You’re so full of beans.” Just a down to earth, hardworking guy who became a fast friend. We drove all around New York State setting up jobs. I always let Dave drive so that I could rest. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards. They played with the big chicken that made a lot of noise. Mom tossed the football and Ollie brought it back to her. As the visit drew to a close I headed for the door.  “C’mon, Oliver,”
