D.B. of the Week - The Donald

Donald Trump is a repeat winner of the D.B. of the Week Award and this week he gets it for simply announcing that he is officially running for president.

I'm not against him running for president, mind you, but he has already stepped in it a few times.

First:

He announced his candidacy while playing Neil Young's Keep On Rocking In the Free World.

It's a great song, but was also a song written in protest (listen to the words) in regard to the first George Bush presidency.

Neil Young is a liberal from the word go and he hates all things GOP.

As soon as I heard the song playing I said:

"Uh-oh!"

It took about an hour for Young to denounce the use of the song and announce that he is all for Bernie Sanders.

Then the Donald stepped up and started to talk.

Second:

Donald said that it's sort of ironic that the prison where the escape happened in New York State is the Clinton Correctional.

Really?

Is that suspicious to you?

I'm thinking he was going for the funny...but in your candidacy speech?

Weird.

Third:

Then the D.B. of the Week...(and it only stands for Dopey Bastard this week)...had a campaign photo sent around.

It was a photo of the Donald...with his hair combed...and the words WE SHALL OVERCOME underneath.

Someone needs to update Donald's I-pod with some of the songs that aren't anti-establishment protest songs.

Pete Seeger wrote the song as a protest against the machine during the Viet Nam days.

A further look into Pete's catalog should let the Donald know that it is also another phrase that he probably doesn't want to use as the foundation of his campaign.

I don't know where Donald goes from here...but it definitely won't be boring.

He's going to mention a lot of things.

He's going to be brutally honest.

He's going to attack, attack and attack...

...but don't be dopey about it.

Finally:

Here's a hint, Donald...don't break out Born In the USA next.

I don't know much about politics, but I definitely know rock and roll and Bruce isn't voting for you either.
