One In the Back

Everyone in baseball is piling on the Houston Astros...

...and as badly as it reflects on the game that I love...

...I’m all for it.

The Houston Astros deserve to hear about it, from every fan, every time they take the field.

Their cheating enterprise was all-encompassing. The entire organization. Top to freaking bottom.

And they got off pretty easy.

Lost a few draft picks, five million and not much more. None of the players were suspended. The manager and general manager were suspended and fired.

A slap on the wrist, really.

Players get ten games for having too much pine tar.

So, all they had to do was put on a sad face and talk about how sorry they were and how they’d never do such a thing again to compromise the integrity of the game.

They couldn’t pull it off.

They were arrogant a**holes when they won...

...why wouldn’t they be arrogant about being caught?

Bregman and Altuve had their smirks.

Correa said the right things on day one and then crapped all over everything the next time he spoke.

The owner said it didn’t impact the game.

The commissioner called the trophy a hunk of metal.

He also said that the Astros punishment was the public shame and that they’d get to keep the trophy.

Hell, I’d rob a bank if they said I could keep the money and would only be punished in being called a bank robber.

Then the new manager cried about the fact that the Astros players would be plunked all year long.

The commissioner was sure to let everyone know that they’d be suspended for throwing bean balls at Astros players.

So, cheating to win a World Series is a suspension-free situation, but throwing baseballs at the cheaters will get you suspended.

Sounds dumb.

Now, I don’t want to be an “I told you so” sort of guy, but I told anyone who’d listen that they were cheating...

...a long time ago.

I knew McGwire & Sosa and Bonds & A-Rod were cheating long before they were busted. I also knew Douchebag Armstrong was cheating too.

This is worse!

This was a conscious, organizational decision. They sent emails that had “How We Can Cheat!” in the subject line.

And now they’re defiant about it???

The best thing they can do is shut up and take their base after they catch one in the ribs.

Take the medicine...

...you earned it.

It’s all you earned.

Stupid Commissioner protecting them like they are his bullied kids that no one wants to be friends with. SERIOUSLY!? Everyone else has to be warned NOT to hit them? Gimme a break. what happens when one really does "get away" from the pitcher and skins one by mistake? Suspension? UGH! My money is on lots of bench clearing brawls this year. Good thing Houston isn't coming into LA this year!

All the information should be made known so we can figure out which games they won that they should have lost and so we know exactly what players were directly benefitted. The steroid cheats are well known - let’s know exactly who the sign signal cheats are.

No way they stopped cheating after they won either - Altuve was wearing a wire when he homered off of Chapman - I want that verified.

They cost the Yankees or the Dodgers or both a title.

Despicable.

Despicable describes it perfectly! I couldn't agree with you more! I might have to watch the Angel's home opener against them, rumor has it Dodger Blue is going to be well represented (of course it help in selling out Angel Stadium -which never happens), but it will be fun to see the how the crybabies handle public humiliation.

Here's to a great season for both LA and NY! who knows....they could meet up in October!

PLAY BALL!!!!
