So Jared Fogle's lawyers claimed that his 245-pound weight loss turned him "hyper-sexual" and made him a sex-crazed pedophile?

Did I just type that sentence?

How can a lawyer make such a claim with a straight face?

Did Jared explain that to them?

Did they think it sounded good?

Does it sound plausible to you?

Now I know that lawyers are paid to come up with crazy ideas that might save their clients from going to jail, but how do you even propose such a thing?

Weight loss led you to become a pedophile alcoholic...

...I've sort of heard everything now.

And of course, Jared went the old sympathy route.

Having to be a role model...being in the spotlight...made him do it.

And there are so many clever jokes going around now.

Most of those jokes have to do with Jared getting used to a new sort of foot long, but the sad part of it all is that he was convicted of preying on 16 and 17 year old boys and girls.

Jared lost 245 pounds, allegedly, eating only turkey and veggie Subway sandwiches.

That, in itself, seems disgusting to me...but what he was charged with...truly is disgusting, appalling, sickening and horrifying.

He begged for images of children.

He had over 600 images of children.

He tried to initiate sex with 14 or 15 year old kids.

And then his lawyer stepped into a courtroom and tried to explain that it was all due to his weight loss?

I'm glad that the judge didn't even consider such a defense.

Jared is going away for a long time.

The prison term is said to be about 15 years.

His wife and his own kids are now forever scarred by the choices that he made in his life.

Good riddance.

His own defense lawyer finally broke down and called him 'pathetic'.

That sounds about right.

Sit there and think about it.

The rest of us will forget you quickly.

Pathetic.

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Mom & Ollie

 Ollie Stadium is a mess. The heavy rains rendered the backyard a mud pit and even though we threw in the side yard, the Big O was looking for more, and we were both covered in mud. I had to take some steam out of him somehow so I suggested we go visit Grandma. Ollie hates the car, but he laid quietly as we made the trip. We even brought the football because there is plenty of room to play at Grandma’s. Mom opened the door and started laughing. I thought about the love she had for every single dog we ever had. Oliver was quick to give my Mom a kiss, and then he stood beside her. The love between Mom and Dogs is a mutual bond. Through the years, Mom would make breakfast for the dogs.  Fried eggs, toast, bacon… She would wrap Christmas gifts for them. “To Jeter, Love Santa,” she would write on the cards.
