The NFL Does Not Pay Taxes

How's that for a kick in the head?

They are a not-for-profit organization and have not paid taxes, as a business since 1966.

Doesn't that piss you off?

And of course, someone will tell me about the Catholic Church...or this one or that one, but don't bury the lead!

The NFL is a freaking cash cow.

Did you know that the NFL also raises money for breast cancer research?

Do you also know that the keep most of that money?

For their not for profit.

I didn't watch the State of the Union.

I absolutely hate that format, but I did hear a little about the economic inequality and know that it was mentioned.

I heard they may raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour on Federal projects.

That won't make people millionaires, but perhaps a start.

I'm just sort of lost on all of it.

There is absolute outrage over people who are hoping to survive qualifying for food stamps and/or welfare...just go on your Facebook page...you'll read all about the rage.

"Lazy bastards need to get off their asses!"

And the NFL can spend 50 years not paying taxes?

It infuriates me.

It really truly does.

And don't think the NFL is the only one.

The more money you generate the easier it is to get clear of those pesky taxes.

Fortune 500 companies hire the best accountants to pay as little as possible, and their employees are lucky to be working.

Where is the outrage here, people?

A guy owning a cell phone, although he applies for Federal assistance, is considered a gross pig for being lazy and incompetent and they can just steal cash hand over fist and no one says a word?

The NFL does not pay taxes.

The Commissioner of the Not for Profit Makes $30 million a year.

Let that sink in.

I'm sure he earns every penny, right?

My Buddy, Dave

Way back in 1997, I started working with a steel erection company out of Syracuse. I was coming straight from a long stint with a steel erector here in Buffalo so I knew my stuff when it came to steel erection safety rules. On day one, I met with the safety director and he was just getting started as a safety guy, but man, he certainly cared about the guys he worked with. Dave was a good man from the start. Hot & Dusty

Back about 18 years ago I worked with a project manager who taught me to always include the weather in my recap of the days events. This was during the summer months, and before long I was getting descriptive in my accounts. I used to always write something like, "Cloudy with a drizzle of rain," or my personal favorite, "Hot & Dusty." The project manager used to laugh at some of the strange one's I'd come up with, but I thought of it again this week when a buddy texted from Philly to let me know how much snow was coming down.
