What’s the End Game?

Spoke to a farmer who voted for the orange blob.

The farmer is worried because, “most of my employees are immigrants here on work visas. They’re good, hardworking people. They’re scared. I’m scared. Will he throw them out?”

Also spoke to another guy who definitely is an outspoken fan of Shitler.

“I applied for social security because even though I’m not ready to retire, I want to be on the docket in case he rips it away.”

Read an article about food being kept from food banks in big cities. The article stating that it won’t be given to the poor. It will, instead, be thrown out.

Saw another bill from Florida as they try and strip away protections for child labor. They need children - as young as 14 to work as many hours as they can because (see above) they’re booting immigrants.

Speaking of which, the Supreme Court will soon decide whether or not due process will be required, or will this administration, headed by the bloated golfer, be able to throw out anyone who doesn’t look right to them? (Wrong shade).

France wants the Statue of Liberty back because we no longer believe in the things that prompted them to gift it to us.

Canada is fed up. Their leaders proclaimed the friendship between the countries as completely destroyed.

People in Greenland are wearing MAGA hats that spell out:

“Make America Go Away.”

The stock market crashed again because of the 25% tariffs promised for all cars manufactured elsewhere.

It leads me all to wonder:

“What is the end game?”

It seems to me that they’re out to destroy the place.

To what end?

I know good people who are being terrorized, wondering why the ground is suddenly unstable under our feet.

We just want to live a life of peace.

Have a little money to have a little fun.

Make it to retirement to enjoy a well-earned rest.

Suddenly, none of the American dream seems possible.

Is that the plan?

If someone knows, please let ME know, because it appears quite maddening.

The other night I got home from work and Kathy and Sam were engaged in a game of backgammon. Sam had never played and wanted to learn. He got some late doubles and won his debut game. (I helped a little). And I thought of my buddy, Gag. We were roommates at Gannon back in 1983. We played at least 25 games of backgammon a night. By the end of the year he wound up beating me by just a couple of games out of a few thousand. That’s 60-year-old Gag in the photo - running the Disney marathon with his son, MJ - they do it every year. Eyes on the Horizon

My sister’s book is out there! Go get it!! It makes me so proud to see the book on Amazon, knowing that it’s very, very great! It’s been a long, long time since we were out in California, brainstorming my stories long before they were published. Carrie Lynn was writing, writing and writing some more through the years and I kept telling her… …”Go for it!” Well, she did!  To amazing results. Of course I was able to read the book as it was being put together, but I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday and can’t wait to read it again. The shoe is on the other foot now as I have been sitting on a lot of my writing lately. I plan on getting it out there before the end of 2024, but for now: Carrie takes center stage! Eyes on the Horizon Review

It’s always strange for me when someone I know tells me that they read my books and it’s weird for them because they think of me as they’re reading the story. I didn’t quite grasp what they meant, and hoped that they’d get caught up in the story and not me. I kind of get what they’re saying now because I just finished reading my sister Carrie Lynn’s excellent first book, ‘Eyes on the Horizon’. Now, I had read the story a long while ago, but a whole lot of work went into the end product. As a writer, I always try and guess along with the author because I can see the plot lines, and I’m often critical of plot lines that come out of nowhere as the author tries to unpaint the corner he’s stuck in. There was none of that in ‘Eyes on the Horizon’! I didn’t have any moments of, ‘Come on, now, that doesn’t work!’ I caught all the subtle lines that we shared in conversations and I was proud that Carrie defined her characters clearly and used them to propel the story forward.
