Nice Day for A Drive

I mentioned to a buddy that at this age it seems like it takes Friday a month to get here each week.

Then there is Saturday and the chores that come with a ‘day off’.

I cleaned Miller’s litter boxes, washed muddy clothes from playing ball with Ollie, played ball with Ollie, and made two dinners including a huge pot of sauce for Sunday dinner.

Then I took a long, slow ride to visit with Mom, and we had coffee, a Rice Krispies treat or two and watched ‘Mike & Molly.’

We talked about the family and called my sister Carrie for her birthday.

A nice visit that always makes me smile.

Back to the homestead where we caught up on series that we are watching on one paid channel or another. We like ‘White Lotus’ and kicked around the idea of moving to Thailand.

I thought a little about golfing and did the math on how many more weeks need to pass before I can swing a club on Sunday morning.

Six?

Seven?

That’s going to pass slowly too, as the news out of Yankees spring training has been horrific…

…how do you get hurt running to first on your first at-bat of the spring?

Another guy has tennis elbow in both elbows.

Two of the best pitchers are undergoing MRI’s (they always show freaking inflammation!)

Lot of doom there!

And then, trying to catch up on the news of the day…

…more damn doom!

I forget…

…are we doing tariffs or not?

Attacking Greenland?

Whatevs…

…was a nice day for a slow ride through my hometown.

Time is passing slowly right now…

…but it is passing.

We’ll be all right.

Right?
