Spring Training

Yesterday we spoke about training season and I’m glad it’s winding down because my voice is hoarse and my back hurts from standing in front of everyone.

It comes just as spring training gets going and we have three Yankees players already are hurting.

Stanton showed up with tennis elbow in both elbows.

Gil has a shoulder strain and he has to sit for six weeks.

DJ was held out to stretch out before he played a real game. He had two at-bats and left with a calf strain.

It’s the reason I hate spring training!

Of course, they have to get going so it’s part of the gig, but how do you rest all winter, stretch out and immediately pull a freaking calf muscle?

The worst part of it all is that teams are real conservative at the start of the year because a long stretch at the beginning of the year allows for the player to come back way before the playoffs.

In Stanton’s case - after all the homers he hit in last year’s playoffs - take all the time you need.

But seriously, tennis elbow in both freaking elbows?

How does that happen?

There are only 24 days until opening day…

…my mood is going to improve greatly once the games begin.

Just hope they can field a team!
