Pot Shots At The Yankees
Last year, Toronto knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs and their former slugger, Vlad Guerrero, being egged on by steroid cheat David Ortiz, looked at the camera and yelled:
“Da’ Yankees lose!”
Whatever.
You just beat them in a playoff series, and you need to do that.
Pissed me off, and I recall saying:
“I hope they lose in game 7 in the bottom of the 9th.”
That’s exactly what happened to them, and I called Vladdy a former slugger because this year, after signing a $500 million contract, he hit 9 homers and drove in 45 runs.
Karma came for him.
So, this year, Tampa beats the Yankees. Judge didn’t play. Had he been healthy, it may have been a different story.
Yet, injuries are part of the game. The Rays deserved to win.
Their star, Junior Caminero, decided to join the party.
“Da’ Yankees lose!” He announced.
Caminero was horrible in the World Series and guess what:
“Da’ Rays lose!”
You’d think I’d be happy, right because I enjoyed watching the Brewers play some great baseball, and their manager was refreshing.
Until after they won when Pat Murphy decided to celebrate by calling the Yankees a ‘horse shit team with guys who only play for themselves’.
What????
They weren’t involved!
They won 93 games without the best player in the sport.
Yet what was most frustrating was having the manager of the team that just won it all, take a pot shot at another organization.
I tried to picture Joe Torre doing that, or Derek Jeter.
Would’ve never happened.
Why is everything so damn negative and mean now?
You won.
You need to bad mouth another team an hour after winning?
Of course, America responded:
“He won. He can say anything he wants.”
That’s not what winning means to me.
What happened to winning with grace?
Dump the champagne over your head. Congratulate your team. Go on a speaking tour. Run it back next year.
But, say something disparaging about a team in another league that wasn’t even involved?
Classless.
The Brewers won their first title.
They’ve been around for 60 years.
Were they a horse shit organization when they didn’t win it all?
Not sure.
The Yankees never commented on it.
One last thing.
The Brewers are fortunate that Judge was hurt or they may not be having a ring ceremony or a parade.
Horse shit is taking shots at another organization.
