Halloween

We are not dressing up this year, unless you count shorts and tee-shirt to watch all the great shows that are suddenly out.

Lowdown with Ethan Hawke is a good one - that has a second season - we binged all of season 1 last week.

Tulsa King is back - Stallone’s face doesn’t move at all anymore - Botox makes people look crazy. It’s not a great series, but we’ve watched it all along.

A new series - Nocturnal - is a good one - on Apple TV.

Yet, what drives me crazy is that a series will start in a certain place, and then suddenly we go back in time to try and explain the bad guy’s motivation.

And then it will flash:

“Two weeks ago.”

A story should have a start, middle and end, but it seems we get a story arc of:

“Start, Before the start, Present Day, a month before the main character was born, twenty years down the line, and then two weeks ago.”

“Who the hell is that guy?” Kathy will sometimes ask as we get to the end of an episode.

“That’s his long-lost son from when he was a teenager.”

Shit is hard to follow!

But movies have taken a back seat to these long running series.

We used to go to the theater.

Covid seems to have ended that part of America, and now we hang out on Halloween…

…trying to figure out who the hell the main character was married to when he was a teenager.

By the way, watching the shows are a great way to forget about what’s going on in the real world.

The election is less than 100 hours away.

There’s some weird rumors going around.

Power going out for extended stretches?

Massive bombs being dropped?

Martial law?

Better not be…

…we have shows to watch!
