Can’t Not Watch
I kept an eye on the first two games of the World Series.
When Toronto won game 1, I thought:
“Good, the Dodgers lost.”
When the Dodgers won game 2, I thought:
“Good, Toronto lost.”
You get the idea.
I wish they could both lose.
Yet, I turned on Game 3 for a little while.
Caught an Ohtani homer.
Flipped over in game 4.
Saw Vlad homer.
Of course, I did not watch all of the 18-inning game that ended a little after 3 in the morning, but my boy Sam did, and I woke to texts that read:
“You might be right. Baseball is a better game than football.”
I will say that with my dying breath.
Baseball is the greatest game ever invented, and although I don’t want to see either of these teams crowned as champions…
…come Sunday, the countdown begins.
To April.
The winter months are long because I’m going to be stuck watching football, or keeping an eye on the NBA or the NHL.
There are always trade rumors and free agent signings to follow, but life isn’t the same when baseball is off-season.
Go Jays…
…beat the Dodgers!
Go Dodgers…
…beat the Jays!
I won’t be happy either way until April comes around.
