Ain’t America

I was absolutely horrified by a video of a Hispanic family being ravaged by ICE in Colorado.

I’m not clever enough to find the link and include it, but it was evident that a man, a woman and a young child were pulled over by an SUV that held a half-dozen ICE officers, dressed in tactical gear, and with masks on their faces.

“Why am I being stopped?” The man, who was clearly Hispanic asked.

And then all hell broke loose as a big, burly man used a baton to strike the window.

Mom was screaming from the passenger seat.

“There’s a baby in here! Why are you doing this? Do you have a warrant?”

The glass shattered and the man was yanked from the vehicle and tossed to the ground. The officers knelt on his back and handcuffed him, as the woman screamed:

“He has a family! Where is the warrant? Where are you taking him?”

“We left the warrant in the office,” one ICE agent said.

“We are taking him wherever we want to,” another chimed in.

And that was that.

The video stopped.

The circumstances aren’t readily clear, but the man was being removed from his vehicle and his baby because ICE wanted to see if he was a citizen.

And even if he isn’t????

Is this due process?

Is this how arrests are made?

If you LOOK illegal to the roving band of hooligans they are free to do whatever they want in order to rip people out of their lives.

It’s not an isolated case.

It’s happening all over the country.

A young couple, in Portland, was shown standing in the streets speaking to ICE (all in full war gear). One of the agents took out pepper spray and blasted the woman in the face - she was talking to them! - she had to be taken to the hospital.

Doors are being smashed.

Men are being detained…

…if you’re a citizen you might get released…

…if they want you gone…

…no matter what order your papers are in…

…you’re gone.

“This ain’t America,” ran through my mind a dozen times as I listened to that poor woman cry.

It’s 3rd world shit, and if you’re good with it, and you consider yourself a person of Christian faith…

…well, God help you.

You’re on the wrong side of everything.

And it occurred to me that it won’t stop here…

…next they will come for those speaking out against the atrocities.

Like they did in Germany nearly 100 years ago.
