Do you recognize the man’s name?

Abrego Garcia is in El Salvador.

He was sent there ‘by accident’ although he had legal immigration status here in America.

A court has ordered that he be returned, but in an amazing turn, the court is being ignored.

This is a troubling, game-changing decision as it puts us into a constitutional crisis.

I’m sure everyone who reads this blog knows where I stand on the current stench emanating from the White House, but this should be a non-partisan issue.

We have a constitution in place.

Our founding fathers were brilliant in their establishment of checks and balances that included 3 branches and the press that was the voice of the people to keep us from ever having a king.

That’s not only being threatened…

…it’s being destroyed.

Congress is supposed to hold the purse strings.

The judicial branch is the ultimate authority when it comes to checks and balances.

We essentially have a king now directing universities regarding their curriculum.

Legal citizens being ripped from their homes and sent to an El Salvadorian prison?????

Come on.

This is non-partisan.

It can’t happen.

Ever.

And do you really believe that is the dude who should be king?

He wears a wig, a diaper and paints himself orange.

If we were going to let it all go…

Surely we could have found royalty that was worthy.

There’s Still Greatness

The other night I got home from work and Kathy and Sam were engaged in a game of backgammon. Sam had never played and wanted to learn. He got some late doubles and won his debut game. (I helped a little). And I thought of my buddy, Gag. We were roommates at Gannon back in 1983. We played at least 25 games of backgammon a night. By the end of the year he wound up beating me by just a couple of games out of a few thousand. That’s 60-year-old Gag in the photo - running the Disney marathon with his son, MJ - they do it every year. Eyes on the Horizon

My sister’s book is out there! Go get it!! It makes me so proud to see the book on Amazon, knowing that it’s very, very great! It’s been a long, long time since we were out in California, brainstorming my stories long before they were published. Carrie Lynn was writing, writing and writing some more through the years and I kept telling her… …”Go for it!” Well, she did!  To amazing results. Of course I was able to read the book as it was being put together, but I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday and can’t wait to read it again. The shoe is on the other foot now as I have been sitting on a lot of my writing lately. I plan on getting it out there before the end of 2024, but for now: Carrie takes center stage! And it’s so great… …go get a copy!

Eyes on the Horizon Review

It’s always strange for me when someone I know tells me that they read my books and it’s weird for them because they think of me as they’re reading the story. I didn’t quite grasp what they meant, and hoped that they’d get caught up in the story and not me. I kind of get what they’re saying now because I just finished reading my sister Carrie Lynn’s excellent first book, ‘Eyes on the Horizon’. Now, I had read the story a long while ago, but a whole lot of work went into the end product. As a writer, I always try and guess along with the author because I can see the plot lines, and I’m often critical of plot lines that come out of nowhere as the author tries to unpaint the corner he’s stuck in. There was none of that in ‘Eyes on the Horizon’! I didn’t have any moments of, ‘Come on, now, that doesn’t work!’ I caught all the subtle lines that we shared in conversations and I was proud that Carrie defined her characters clearly and used them to propel the story forward.
