Straight to the Dictatorship

We have arrived.

At straight up chaos in our government.

Money that was appropriated is being withheld. That news came with a 5 p.m. deadline.

An executive decree from King Pig sent shockwaves through offices in every state as Federal monies was held for ransom.

The procedures of how it all works means absolutely nothing now as Federal judges across the land had to file emergency paperwork to make sure that food stamps and meals on wheels and veterans benefits were still available.

The decree from the man who spent the last two days on the golf course had to be treated seriously because people depending on the grants and benefits were in real danger of NOT EATING!

And it’s all in an effort to show how tough they’re going to be and how they’re going to cut federal spending so that all those suffering billionaires can make ends meet with a promised tax cut.

Federal employees were offered buyouts.

Justices were fired.

No explanation of anything.

People scrambling.

Constitutional amendments being ignored (also to be challenged in the courts).

I recall what I learned about the workings of our government.

A truly wonderful system that was dependent on the media keeping the common folk informed (it’s all fake news now), and three separate, distinct branches so that there is a system of checks and balances.

The bloated thing currently in charge of the executive branch has no knowledge on how it all works, and if it sounds like I’m a tad pissed it’s because I am.

I saw a photo of another slob - a television personality, with limited knowledge on treating people through mental illness - leading an ICE raid.

What an absolute mess.

They’re actually challenging the citizenship of the NATIVE Americans. (Guess they don’t know the definition of NATIVE).

And the worst part is that most people are simply oblivious to the fact that our Democracy is being dismantled by a huge, orange blob of narcissistic blunder.

If we were to elect a king here…

…that disgusting fraud would certainly be way down on the list of possible candidates.

So disappointed in my country.

The other night I got home from work and Kathy and Sam were engaged in a game of backgammon. Sam had never played and wanted to learn. He got some late doubles and won his debut game. (I helped a little). And I thought of my buddy, Gag. We were roommates at Gannon back in 1983. We played at least 25 games of backgammon a night. By the end of the year he wound up beating me by just a couple of games out of a few thousand. That’s 60-year-old Gag in the photo - running the Disney marathon with his son, MJ - they do it every year. Eyes on the Horizon

My sister’s book is out there! Go get it!! It makes me so proud to see the book on Amazon, knowing that it’s very, very great! It’s been a long, long time since we were out in California, brainstorming my stories long before they were published. Carrie Lynn was writing, writing and writing some more through the years and I kept telling her… …”Go for it!” Well, she did!  To amazing results. Of course I was able to read the book as it was being put together, but I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday and can’t wait to read it again. The shoe is on the other foot now as I have been sitting on a lot of my writing lately. I plan on getting it out there before the end of 2024, but for now: Carrie takes center stage! Eyes on the Horizon Review

It’s always strange for me when someone I know tells me that they read my books and it’s weird for them because they think of me as they’re reading the story. I didn’t quite grasp what they meant, and hoped that they’d get caught up in the story and not me. I kind of get what they’re saying now because I just finished reading my sister Carrie Lynn’s excellent first book, ‘Eyes on the Horizon’. Now, I had read the story a long while ago, but a whole lot of work went into the end product. As a writer, I always try and guess along with the author because I can see the plot lines, and I’m often critical of plot lines that come out of nowhere as the author tries to unpaint the corner he’s stuck in. There was none of that in ‘Eyes on the Horizon’! I didn’t have any moments of, ‘Come on, now, that doesn’t work!’ I caught all the subtle lines that we shared in conversations and I was proud that Carrie defined her characters clearly and used them to propel the story forward.
