Eden Is Burning
My Lord, the wild fires in California are simply devastating.
I watched a woman drive through the fire as she tried to make it out, and here in the land of blizzards, it’s hard to fathom, but look at the list of the most devastating fires ever.
The majority have happened in 2017 and 2018.
Couple that with hurricane storms that are ‘once every hundred year’ storms that now happen every few months...
...and it’s hard not to believe that something is amiss.
The woman in the car was praying hard to make it to safety and I’m sure all of our minds would go there, but there are also some “preachers” who claim that the devastation is a result of God being angry about lifestyle choices.
So, removing some of the religion from it...
...I’m horrified by the loss of lives, animals and property.
The news of the day often seems overwhelming, and that has to be doing something to our collective psyche.
There was also another mass shooting to check in on, and the images from that night’s shooting was devastatingly sad.
Southern California is a beautiful part of the country. The homes that are being destroyed in Malibu are beautiful.
Some of them belong to Hollywood stars.
There are some in our divided country cheering that liberal artists are suffering.
How sad is that?
I was thinking of the poor animals that are out there.
The fire is spreading the size of a football field every couple of seconds in some areas.
“God have mercy,” the woman said, as she prayed.
And then she was out of the flames and darkness into the bright, beautiful sky of the California day.
One of the towns that was destroyed was Paradise, California.
Maybe Eden IS burning.
May God help them all.
